Having already introduced Savvy Circle member Rose1001′s thoughts on our Olay project yesterday, we thought you’d love to also hear what another one of our super active team members has to say about her experiences over the past two months…

Olay Total Effects Sensitive being tested on the Savvy Circle

Dear fellow Savvy Circle members,

I have enjoyed participating in the Olay project, I was delighted when the package arrived but then panicked whether I was able carry out the research properly!

I was initially nervous about asking friends and colleagues if they wanted to try a sample and what things I would say. After using Olay for a couple of days I could already feel the difference in my skin which gave me the confidence to discuss it with people.

I enjoyed the freebies, speaking to people regarding samples and receiving feedback. Also, logging the information on the website also appeals to my nerdy side!

I handed out all samples / coupons to family, friends and work colleagues with feedback received from eight people who have used the Olay samples. In addition I have spoken to four family members and two people at work. Once I started doing this really got into the project and looked forward to talking about it – often asking people about Olay before they had had a chance to use it!

My advice would be to read the Olay blog; it’s nice see how everyone else is getting on. I also recommend posting on the Olay blog, keeping up to date with adding conversation reports and research sheets, this helped me feel organised. I also found myself looking out for any Olay deals in shops to share with other members, I felt happy to share this information and also pleased that I was using the product.

Guest blogger #1: Savvy Circle member Rose1001.

Taking a quick glance at some particularly active members of the project, it occurred to us that having some of our fellow Savvy Circle members take the stage on our blog would make a fantastic new feature on our Olay project.

Read Savvy Circle member Rose1001′s thoughts below…

Olay Total Effects Sensitive Moisturiser on the Savvy Circle

Hi everyone,

I’m really enjoying the project; I love giving out samples/coupons and this blog has such a lovely inclusive feel with everyone sharing tips and advice, I really feel like I’m amongst friends.

I’ve met new friends, such as Alison the post lady; she rang the bell one day, I rushed to the door all excited thinking it was my kit – it wasn’t and I expressed my disappointment! I told her about the project and she said she’s always looking for something to help her weather-beaten skin so would love a sample. When the kit arrived I gave her a sample, she called by a few days later with her feedback, and now she often stops to chat if she brings a parcel or recorded delivery.

I’ve also used Olay to get to know my new neighbours. They’ve moved in just up the road (it’s very rural here and they’re my nearest neighbours), two single ladies in their 60s. I’m not sure what I would have had to talk to them about without Olay, it really broke the ice!

Everyone’s delighted to get such generous coupons, I’ve given them to ladies in their 20s up to those in their 80s and I feel like Santa when I see the smile on everyone’s face!

I’ve also become more outgoing. Savvy Circle projects are a great way to meet people and try out products at the same time, and I’ve made new friends and feel part of this blog.

I feel as if I know some of you! I’d encourage everyone to check the blogs and contribute as often as possible, there’s always someone who’s interested in what you have to say.

Questions & Answers

Our Olay questions answered.

Over the course of our project for Olay Total Effects Sensitive Moisturiser we have been asked numerous questions about the product. Most we have been able to answer ourselves, but for some we’ve needed to go to our contacts at the brand to ask for their expert advice!

Exclusive Olay Total Effects Sensitive product test on the Savvy Circle

So, without further ado, here are the (very few) questions that we have fed back to Olay during our project, along with their respective answers:

Q. Can I use a serum underneath of Olay Total Effects Sensitive Moisturiser?
A. Moisturisers can be used alone, or on top of a serum. If you use a serum with your usual moisturiser, then you can continue to do that with the Olay Sensitive.

Q. Should I apply sunscreen before or after applying Olay Total Effects Sensitive Moisturiser?
A. The moisturiser should go on first, then the sunscreen on top.

Q. Can Olay Total Effects Sensitive Moisturiser be used along with the Olay Regenerist kit (Microdemerbrasion & mini peeling ) or is it a standalone product?
A. Olay Total Effects Sensitive Moisturiser contains an SPF 15, and therefore would be suitable to use after Regenerist Microdemerbrasion & mini peeling kit (as a moisturiser containing SPF is recommended after using this).

Hopefully, if you’ve been wondering any of these questions yourself, these expert answers will have been able to help you!

@all: Have you been able to help somebody out with advice about Olay Total Effects Sensitive Moisturiser having read our project handbook, blog and been an active project participant for the best part of two months?

One solution to fight seven signs of skin ageing.

Being in the latter stages of our Olay project we’re all in a position to comment on what changes we have noticed in our skin over the previous six weeks.

But first, let’s take a brief look at a bit of background information:

Normally, by the end of our twenties, we can see “them” in the mirror – little lines around our eyes and on our forehead. They may cause concern to some, but wrinkles aren’t the only sign that our skin is ageing and requires more care – and Olay’s experts have identified the seven key indicators that our skin is getting older.

Olay Total Effects Sensitive Moisturiser on the Savvy Circle

Luckily, Olay Total Effects Sensitive helps fight seven signs of ageing, ensuring that…

  • 1… fine lines and wrinkles appear reduced.
  • 2… skin texture looks smoother.
  • 3… skin appears more even-toned.
  • 4… pores appear reduced.
  • 6… a moisture balance is maintained
  • 7… skin’s surface glows.

Alongside all of that, the moisturiser also helps protect against UVA/UVB rays, one of the main causes of premature skin ageing.

So the question is:

After using Olay Total Effects Sensitive Moisturiser for an extended period of time, what changes in your skin tone, feel, and texture have you experienced so far? Do your friends agree?

I’m looking forward to reading your replies!

Getting feedback from family and friends on our Olay project.

When asking family and friends for their opinions on Olay Total Effects’ Sensitive Moisturiser we can also use the research sheets found in our starter kits.

Also, why not use the insider information from the project handbook to explain what is great about the sensitive moisturiser, and then ask them to take a second or two to fill in a research sheet so that their opinions can be presented to the brand at the end of our project.

Our aim on each Savvy Circle project is to collect as much information and as many opinions and comments as is possible. Let’s work together to astound the brand with our feedback!

The importance of moisture.

We often hear how important it is to moisturise, especially as we age – but why, exactly, do we need to use a moisturiser?

The experts at Olay help us understand exactly what the new Olay Total Effects can do for us, and why that step in our make-up routine is such a significant one…

Moisture is critical in maintaining the skin’s protective barrier layer and making skin look younger and healthier. Unfortunately, as we age, skin doesn’t hold water as well as it used to – it tends to get drier more easily. This, combined with a weakened skin protection barrier and lessened elasticity, makes fine lines and wrinkles appear, since dry skin is more apt to crease.

By using the right products, though, we can help our skin regain and keep that lost moisture. Moisturised skin not only looks plumper and softer – it’s also more capable of resisting the forces which age us.

Thanks to Savvy Circle member joey3 for the above picture!

An anti-ageing skincare routine should also include the daily use of a cream with an SPF, since it’s critical to protect skin against the sun’s harmful UV rays, even in winter. Additionally, we should drink enough water to help ensure that our skin stays hydrated from the inside, and get enough sleep to look and feel refreshed.

Fruits and vegetables are a great way to get antioxidants naturally, but anti-ageing products can help combat free radicals, as well as trapping moisture where it can do the most good.

It isn’t possible to stop time, but with the right routine and combination of products, we can age gracefully. If properly cared for, skin can protect us from the elements while looking lovely, and it can do it all our lives – moisturising (i.e. maintaining skin’s protective barrier) is a large part of that care.

@all – What changes in your skin’s moisture levels have you noticed since the beginning of our trial of Olay Total Effects? How well does the product improve the look and feel of your skin?

Olay Total Effects just for women? Better think again…

As we all know, beauty products – by and large – are marketed towards the fairer sex. However, be that as it may, it hasn’t stopped lots of men getting their hands on the moisturiser to give it a good go!

That’s why we’re really glad that Savvy Circle member EJ70 decided to send in a conversation report to let us know her husband has also been trying out the moisturiser!

New Olay Total Effects Sensitive Moisturiser for sensitive skin.
Thank you to Savvy Circle members Maybee (left) and EJ70 (right) for their photos!

And it’s not just the two men shown above, either, as we realised upon reading numerous other comments sent in from our fellow Savvy Circle members…

[...] my husband has just confessed that he’s been using my sample in the mornings – he said I should have hidden it if it was only meant for me to use! Seems the men don’t mind using moisturiser if someone else buys it. Savvy Circle member rusversa

[...] Spoke with my husband showing him the samples etc he was keen to see what Olay does and has taken a sample to try himself which is new as he normally wouldn’t touch a ‘girly’ face cream. Savvy Circle member em02pinky

[...] put some on my husbands face because he said his skin was dry he said his skin felt much better he is impressed! Savvy Circle member poppysmum

Very interesting! Thanks to Savvy Circle members Maybee, EJ70, rusversa, em02pinky and poppysmum for their fab photos and reports.
