At Herbal Essences, they're making mindful decisions to reduce our impact on Earth’s landfills and water supplies, so that they can make Mother Nature proud. This is just the first step and they are excited to continue our progress.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

In 2016, they began purchasing certified renewable electricity credits, which come from windmills, for their Blois factory. This ensures that more renewable energy is added to the electricity grid, displacing conventional fuels like coal, nuclear or natural gas from the electricity system. Since 2010, their Herbal Essences manufacturing sites around the world have reduced their total absolute energy by about 9% and total absolute gas emissions by more than 15%.

REDUCE MANUFACTURING WASTE

Herbal Essences manufacturing sites are working hard to reduce waste. How? For example, at their Iowa City factory, our scrap bottles are repurposed to make flower pots. 50% of their manufacturing sites are even zero manufacturing waste to landfill.

WATER REDUCTION

They're making a concerted effort to protect our world’s most precious resource. From 2010 to 2016, their Herbal Essences sites around the world have reduced total absolute water consumption by over 20%... and that’s only the beginning.
