Putting your Braun Smart IPL to the test

Your starter kits are landing which means this project is officially GO! This project is different to some of our others, and it’s vital that we TEST the product before posting. We’ll give you a heads up when it’s time to start sharing your reels but for now you can start with some fab unboxing and first impression videos.
Let’s get up to speed with our new Braun Smart IPL.

Your first task:
Please read this blog thoroughly. We know life is busy, but trust us when we say it’s well worth it. It contains all the info you need to get smooth, prickle-free skin for up to 1.5 years1!
Need to know info:
You can only have one treatment session per week, so don’t rush it. Make sure you know what you’re doing before you start. What to do:
1️⃣ Install the Braun Smart App and pair and setup your Braun Smart IPL so you can start your journey. The app will guide you through all your sessions and help track your progress with real-time coverage.
2️⃣ Check your skin compatibility with a quick skin tone scan. The built-in skin protection will automatically read your skin and adapt the power to match your needs, even when treating different body areas with uneven skin tones.
Did you know?
▪ The device will not flash if the skin sensor detects an invalid skin tone or if there isn’t full contact with skin.
▪ The skin contact sensors ensure that the device can only be triggered when in contact with the skin and the light visible during the treatment is perfectly safe (so no need for goggles!).
▪ It features an in-built UV filter for effective removal of harmful UV rays.
▪ The Braun Smart IPL is recommended by Skin Health Alliance
3️⃣ Customise Your Session: Choose the body area, hair colour, density, and desired results in the app to create a personalised plan.
4️⃣ Use the Right Head for Each Area:
- The precision head is for small or curved areas (e.g. upper lip, bikini line).
- While the standard head is for larger areas (e.g. legs, arms).
Braun IPL is safe for use on the face below the cheekbones and we recommend a patch test before use. The Braun Smart IPL shouldn’t be used near the eyes and along the forehead but it works effectively on the upper lip, chin and jawline.
Men can use Braun IPL from the shoulders down (chest, back, arms, stomach and legs) but due to the coarseness of the hair, it should not be used on the face, neck or genital area (note: usage on male beards or facial hair may lead to uneven results).
5️⃣ Use all the features and experiment with the stamp and glide mode:
- Glide Mode: For large areas; hold the button for continuous flashes.
- Stamp Mode: For small or hard-to-reach areas; press and release for individual flashes.
6️⃣ Try the Sensitivity Settings: Looking to use your Braun Smart IPL in sensitive areas? Here’s what you need to know:
- There are 3 modes (Extra Gentle, Gentle, Standard) to adapt light intensity for sensitive areas or for beginners. Choose lower intensity for sensitive areas like the bikini line or underarms.
- Where hair is thicker and denser (e.g. bikini line, ankles etc.), the IPL process may, at times, feel a little uncomfortable. If this is the case for you, simply select the gentle or extra gentle mode to lessen the intensity.

I cannot wait to receive the Braun Smart IPL and get testing! I’ve always suffered with skin irritation after shaving and my hairs grow back so quick so I’m hoping this will really help with both of these issues! Excited to see the results! Sarah ☺️
