Our online reviews for Bold 2in1 Rose Blush & Peony.

Over the past two months on our Bold project we've received thousands of conversation reports and nearly eight hundred photos.

We have also seen a fantastic number of online reviews by members of our project team, some of which we'd love to share here.

Whether on personal blogs, over Facebook or on one of the many online review sites such as Ciao and Dooyoo, loads of us have taken the opportunity to share our opinions on review sites so other people can see what we think about the new Bold.

"Bold 2in1 Gel Rose Blush and Peony is very good washing gel that really softens clothes. It's very effective and efficient [...] You don't need to use separate powder & softener so I think I can live with that. This is great product and one of the best washing gels I've used. What else can I say - I can really recommend you this product, you won't be disappointed with it." Savvy Circle member Joalma

"[...] In all, I have been pleasantly surprised by my experience with Bold gel. I love the fragrance of this Rose Blush and Peony variety and feel really comforted by my beautifully scented clothing and I was very relieved that the gel hasn't irritated our delicate skin at all [...]" Savvy Circle member jo1976

If you're still to write an online review outside of the Savvy Circle then take two minutes to do so now - the more reviews we can produce online, the more delighted the Bold team will be at the end of our project!

Got home from a work trip last night, having been away a few days and got a big hug off my fella. Thought he smelt nice and was trying to think what after shave it was, when I realised it was the Bold on his shirt !!

Cornflake • 28/10/2011 - 11:25

One problem - though it smells lovely - see previous comment, the other half is a sensitive soul & he seems more itchy since I've used Bold and he has asked if I've changed washing powder (it's a long time since he's done washing, he still thinks people use powder). I might have to move back !

jillsa • 29/10/2011 - 08:41

I have mentioned it on Facebook. I confess my friends thought it was a tad weird a post!

cathe • 29/10/2011 - 19:32

I frequently read online reviews and it helps me decide what products to buy

LornaLooney • 29/10/2011 - 19:44

I tend to read online reviews for bigger items, or electrical items. Never really thought about reading reviews for washing powders/gels

Little_Ladybirds • 29/10/2011 - 21:11

I agree Lorna - use online reviews for larger more expensive products, but I prob wouldn't read reviews about smaller items such as washing powders.

MysteryShopper0007 • 30/10/2011 - 11:26

Same here LornaLooney i usually read reviews for those "expensive items" to see if they are going to be worth the money or not.

Sueszuk • 30/10/2011 - 17:31

Never thought to read reviews about washing gels the only way to get a view about these products are to try them for your self but I must add I am more than happy with the way this Bold product has worked

whippy • 30/10/2011 - 17:44

just finished trying the bold peony 2 in 1.Took it on holiday went on 17 day cruise. everyone was buying detergent tablets from shop but when i produced my "bold" was what a good idea no need for fabric conditioner as well easy to use smelled everything clean.I let others have some and at the end gave the remainder to the cabin steward who had to buy their own washing liquid etc explained how to use it he seemed happy with the product can recommed to take on hols

mrshall • 30/10/2011 - 20:13

yes i read reviews online, for products i am thinking of buying and will usually go by what other people have said.

Mamma-G • 30/10/2011 - 22:19

Yes i do :) if i see something i like on line, i will always read the reviews and this will make up my mind if i'm going to buy it.

debs • 31/10/2011 - 10:20

i prefer to try product for myself as we are not all the same

asangikas • 31/10/2011 - 10:56

I think new bold in is great but should improve the stain removing power

nearly-a-best-seller • 31/10/2011 - 11:24

on line platforms are a great idea, and I use them whenever I make an online purchase. As long as the contributors are not bias, it is a great way to determine a products attributes and negatives.

mollyhannah • 31/10/2011 - 11:48

i agree with the above comment. I think it leaves clothes lovely and soft and smelling beautiful but i have three young children and think it needs better stain removing power

mollyhannah • 31/10/2011 - 11:50

i agree with the above comment. It leaves clothes lovely and soft and smelling beautiful but as a mum of three young children i agree that it needs better stain removing power

asil7uk • 31/10/2011 - 12:37

I have really enjoyed taking part in this trial. I still love the smell of this product as much as the first time I smelt it.

I do think Bold should produce an odour elminintating type product with this smell as I would love to spray my car seats, sofa and curtains etc with this to maximise this wonderful fragrance!

giag • 31/10/2011 - 12:43

I don't think I'd use an online review for house hold products!
Yes for bigger electrical items, but not for things like soap powders/gels.

As debs says - everyone is different so we'll all like different smells etc, also our 'stains' are all different too............. I find bold removes all my stains- but again we're all individauls and have differing stain issues!!!!

babe38 • 31/10/2011 - 12:55

I have enjoyed being involved in this project and I do like to hear other peoples views on anything especially if I think that it will be something that I would be interested in using.
I have also enjoyed giving my opinion on this product as I have thoroughly enjoyed using it and will be continuing to do so in the future.
I agree that we are all different when it comes to what we like or want from a product, but that surely makes it all the more interesting to read about.
It has been good to review this product and I think that is just as important as if say giving reviews about trying out an appliance etc. After all doing the laundry is something that we all have to do and it is good and helpful knowing what are the best things to choose and which things are better off avoided.Well done to Bold though for this high quality product.I and a lot of other people are very pleased with the great results.

cakeybakeylady • 31/10/2011 - 13:11

I do tend to read reviews for things I am buying, but as other people have said, normally for bigger purchases and mainly electricals! But then I do discuss products with friends and family, ie. cleaning products, hair and beauty. But it is very much an individual choice regarding fragrance and smell - what one person likes another person loathes - thank god we are all individual or the world would be a very boring place!

twitterbabe • 31/10/2011 - 13:39

i often read reviews for anything. Have enjoyed taking part.

sherza • 31/10/2011 - 14:20

my hubby has commented on te smell of his clothes on several occasions, so it must be good, bought a few bottles now and do like it as it keeps a fresh smell of clothes when come out of cupboard

henrysmum • 31/10/2011 - 14:42

I don't normally read reviews for everyday purchases, like most everyone else. We take these things for granted but this project has made me think that perhaps we should take a little more time when deciding what to use, especially when a simple laundry product can make such a difference to our everyday lives.

I have really enjoyed taking part in this project. Well done to Bold for giving us something that has certainly cheered up my family, and I now look forward to going out so that I can smell the lovely fragrance every time I come home again! The fragrance lingers and seems to build up the more you wash an article, without becoming overpowering, which was a little bit of a worry at the beginning.

alsamero • 31/10/2011 - 14:51

I do read reviews online for most products but have to use something to make my own decision on whether to buy/try or not so wiull often opt for trial versions or samples first

flutterby • 31/10/2011 - 15:07

I also read reviews when they are available whether big or small
I love the fragence of Rose Blush and Peony but sometimes an item has to be washed for a 2nd time (but only when I have spilt the gravy) but on the whole I am very pleased with it
but I do have to mention that I have trouble when the bottle is nearly empty but I have bought another bottle - thanks for letting me take part as I have really enjoyed myself and my friends have also enjoyed the fortnightly get togethers chatting about the results and reading the blogs and drinking the wine x

babe38 • 31/10/2011 - 15:26

It is actually a shame that our project has nearly come to an end.I feel like I could share my views on it for a lot longer and will miss giving and receiving hints and tips.
I have just done a big pile of laundry(work clothes)and am now waiting to tumble dry them. When I opened the washing machine door the scent coming from my clean laundry was really nice. And when the tumble dryer is on the fragrance is lovely wafting around the house,it is such a gorgeous perfume.
I have some bed linen and bath towels to wash this week,so hopefully I will be able to share my thoughts on that.In the meantime I am just about to put my tumble dryer on and delight in the lovely perfume about to fill my house.

babe38 • 31/10/2011 - 16:36

Hi everyone!Just commenting on the lovely perfume that is now filling my house. It is gorgeous and seems to be even more enhanced with the central heating on in the background.
I have some ironing to do later so I am actually not minding doing that as I will be greeted with this lovely perfume again.Even my friends have commented that they look upon it differently instead of a chore. And agree that it is down to the fact that the clean laundry smells so good.
I love it as well when you step into clean sheets and you get that great scent coming from them.I find it really cosy and they are particularly good tumble dried in the colder weather,or even hung over a clothes airer in front of the radiator.Great stuff!!

panda2mittens • 31/10/2011 - 16:39

have recently hurt my right hand and found it very difficult to squeeze out the liquid and this made me relise that the design of the bottle makes it no good for those who have difficulties with their hands

Jonquilly • 31/10/2011 - 16:57

Now that the Rose and Peony project is coming to an end I would like to thank everyone for presponding to my contributions, and to say that I think the project has been a resounding success. I for one will be buying the product again as I like the way that it works (squeezing is so much easier than pouring!), the results it gives (both smell and cleanliness) and the fact that it is a two-in-one which saves pennies, effort and bottles. I have also found it interesting reading other people's comments; we're all so alike in our habits really. Well done Bold!

Fruittea • 31/10/2011 - 16:59

I'm getting quite a bit of feedback about the packaging. Everyone loves the fragrance and I must admit I stocked up this weekend with two extra packs myself. However, for older people - perhaps people with less strong hands it's quite difficult to squeeze the the bottle (package) particularly when it starts to get a bit emtpy.

This is something that needs to be considered because if you don't feel you can squeeze the last drop out - you might feel a bit cheated. The plastic is quite thick - so I think you could achieve a win:win situation by changing the packaging to a less dense plastic. Just a thought!

secretarynicholas • 31/10/2011 - 17:08

Yes, I agree, I have trouble with my hand and had to ask someone else to squeeze the bottle for me when it got to the last bits. Apart from that I love everything about Bold 2 in 1.

hazey3 • 31/10/2011 - 17:41

I read online reviews to see what other peoples experiences have been like. It would definitely make me think twice about buying something if it has bad reviews.

martinarose • 31/10/2011 - 19:57

the bottle is a bit tricky for older people. i had to help my mum with hers this week. but i still love it.

aunty-em • 31/10/2011 - 20:14

I had used all my sample up 2/3weeks ago. very pleased with the softness and scent. Still noticing the scent on unworn clothes in wardrobe and airing cupboard.
Definately holds the scent better after being in the tumble dryer. I have decided to purchase Bold crystal rain and white lily this week to compare, again love the scent and the softness.
My sons say they love the softness but smells to girly!

ejh257 • 31/10/2011 - 20:14

I must admit I find the bottle difficult to use too - and I'm still in my forties (just!) - I have to use two hands to squeeze the gel out, which means balancing the lid and hoping it doesn't fall over.

Foggy • 31/10/2011 - 20:26

I do read online reviews but i'm more likely to try a product if it is on special offer and then make my own mind up.

kaalee • 31/10/2011 - 20:28

No Ive never read an online review for a laundry product.

SlayerKat • 31/10/2011 - 21:31

I enjoyed taking part. I promoted on facebook and twitter.

Suzie18 • 31/10/2011 - 22:52

I often do research when buying products. I am interested in other people's experiences.

Persha • 01/11/2011 - 05:53

Reading other people's comments it occurs to me that we are all different.Personally,I found the stain removal properties of Bold 2in1 to be excellent. I adore the smell, but it could be stronger for my liking, but is is very much a matter of taste. I found the scent was better on line-dried washing, not so good if laundry was tumble-dried.I liked the idea of the measuring cup,and while I didn't have any problems with the bottle,I can see that some people mught find it hard to squeeze.I am happy to report that all my vouchers went, and no-one has said to me that they don't like Bold, other than my neighbour whose husband has a medical condition that causes skin sensitivity, but she did use it to wash curtains and liked it.
From what I am reading I think the project has been a great success and I certainly enjoyed taking part.

Cognac • 01/11/2011 - 08:56

I have been using Bold 2in1 gel for a couple of years now but this is the first time I have used this particular fragrance. I have noticed the difference. The fragrance definitely lasts longer than the normal 2in1.

I agree with other testers in that the bottle can be hard to squeeze especially when nearing the end of the bottle.

My sister would not try the product as her daughter is allergic to fabric conditioner!

Laura75 • 01/11/2011 - 09:29

I have really enjoyed participating in this project. It has been interesting to see how market testing and research is conducted and it has also led me to think more deeply about the decisions I make when shopping for a household product, what my priorities are and what I consider value for money. I found the majority of people I approached to talk about the project were receptive and a lot of them went on to give the product a try. I finished my project sample some weeks ago (I do at least one load of washing a day) and then went back to using the generic detergent I had been using before. It was an interesting comparison exercise. I bought another bottle of Bold Rose Blush and Peony yesterday which maybe tells you something about that comparison.

lennyholly • 01/11/2011 - 10:25

I was pleasantly surprised by the product and smell and texture of the clothes after washing is excellent. However I still use a stain removal product with my washing. I also find the liquid very hard to get out of the bottle and it can be a little messing, but I would buy the product again.

silverpearl • 01/11/2011 - 12:54

Have really enjoyed using the new Bold, washing soft, fragrance pleasant, not to strong after a day or so. Excellent washing ability will continue to use Bold in the future. Friends have said that they love the smell of this Bold and can see gets clothes very clean and fresh

Kathyr7382 • 01/11/2011 - 19:26

Have really enjoyed used the new bold, but friends are starting to think i only have one topic of conversation now!!! Can't help I just love the scent!!

Purplefairy • 01/11/2011 - 22:04

it depends on what I'm shopping for whether I check out the consumer reviews especially when I'm buying expensive items like electronic items

blackcat23 • 01/11/2011 - 23:23

I love the smell and the fact that it lasts for so long.
I found that really tough stains did need to be pre-treated to make sure they were completely removed, but all in all a great product! :-)

cheshirechick • 01/11/2011 - 23:58

Well, its time for my final report / comments. I tried previously but - after I spent almost an hour compiling it - it would not 'submit'. Huh!
Here goes....I loved the scent in the pack and was really excited to get my washing in as the smell of my laundry is very important to me.
I liked the convenience of not having to put separate fabric softener in. Also liked the fact that I could use Bold on both my whites and colours. This makes for a lot more space in the cupboard!
I had no problems at all with the cleaning stains left behind, my whites were right, my colours bright. Full marks here.
However, my negative points are that the scent, pleasant as it is, did not last after the wash. I certainly did not get the burst of rose & peony when opening the wardrobe as some other 'savvies' did. Dam!
I found that the secent varied according to the fabric. Doesn't seen much point if the result is not uniform.
The measure was not sufficient for a full load and increased it (almost double) to get any noticable effect. Not good from an economy point of view.
I would not use a combined gel & conditioner on items such as tea towels, dishcloths etc. Nor would I use fabric softener on my undies - as it reduces the ability to absorb. Therfore, I would still have to purchase a separate plain suitable product for these.
So, in my case, you do not have a convert. . . .sorry. After using two packs I will be returning to my previous powders and my preference is still to use a saparate conditoner. . . .a get more impact!!
I had fifteen 'testers' and a lot of them are delighted with the results. I encouraged them to use the coupons and collected all the feedback. I hope I have been a valuable team member and that my points will be of interest.
But for me - its back to my old favourite!!!!! xx

AndMac • 02/11/2011 - 00:25

Yes, I do read online reviews before making a purchase. When a product is new to the market they can be so helpful. I review lots of items on a certain site that is also the name of a South American river.

If you are lucky (like me) you may snap up a 25 WASH! bottle of Rose and Peony at the Savers chain of discount chemists for £3.99 this week. I couldn't believe that they still had some left! Yes, that is Three Pounds Ninety Nine... for 25 washes. Woo-hoo!

haybilly • 02/11/2011 - 06:50

My washing machine broke down this week...which was a nightmare!!! But i had an interesting chat with the service engineer about washing detergent, about the sludge and black mould that builds up in our machines over time. He recommended using named brands and said it didn't matter if it was liquid, tablets or powder, as long as you used the correct dose, ..[under dosing can cause problems for the machine especially in hard water] but he did say using a separate conditioner in your draw can cause the black mould build up and recommemded i use a 2 in 1!!! So thank you Bold, for the 2 in 1 and the lovely scents of your products. i am a happy bunny!!!! with a new washing machine!!!

dani • 02/11/2011 - 11:06

@all: We have been seeing such great reviews on other sites. If you haven’t done already why not try writing an online review and sending it to us in a conversation report:

Benijohn • 02/11/2011 - 12:04

I was lucky enough to be sent a sample of Bold 2 in 1 Rose Blush and Peony and have to say I love it. The frangrance is long lasting and my husband ad kids absolutely love it.

sidmouthsue • 02/11/2011 - 13:48

I don't think the Bold team will be very delighted by my comment - i really don't like the fragrance, find it much too strong. Why do manufacturers think we all want such flowery scents, surely i can't be alone in wanting something with as little scent as possible. I love perfume but don't want my clothes to compete with it!

White_Squirrel • 02/11/2011 - 17:01

I have spoken to mum mum, who bought a bottle with her voucher. She says she finds the bottle hard to squeeze, but loves the scent! We both love perfume and agree the scent is perfect for linen and cushion covers and on the clothes of children and day wear, but for evening we like choose our own perfumes and might be concerned the 2 in 1 might compete, but with the age old issue of not being able to smell scents once you've worn them for more than an hour we won't really know!

Liz77 • 02/11/2011 - 19:19

Love the scent and it doesn't make me sneeze like others do. It lasts for ages and no reaction to my sensitive skin, great!!

Jolaaled • 03/11/2011 - 04:40

The project is ending soon..and so is my fabulously tactile bottle of lovely Bold Rose & Peony!
I've loved every aspect of my trial product and will miss it hugely....
..the bottle is a thing to love, so squeezable and delivers such a divinely smelling pink and shiny reward!!
..the jauntily placed little white hat that doubles as the gel dispenser, fits so perfectly atop his rounded little body!!
..and my newly laundered clothes now have a new lease of life too.

Elirojes • 03/11/2011 - 10:09

I look for reviews when I'm going to buy something big, like appliances. But if I come across a review of something smaller, it makes me think of it and most probably influence my decision of buying it or not, unless I made up my mind about the product already

Lady_golfer • 03/11/2011 - 11:31

I've enjoyed taking part in the survey - using the product, sharing the coupons and obtaining feedback from my colleagues, family and friends.
They've given me mixed reactions with some really liking the product to others who think it's too expensive and one with difficulty squeezing the bottle.
My own view is that I'm not converted as the fragrance does not last on any of my laundry but wollens and towels have been noticably softer.
So for me I will be going back to my previous product. Sorry!

mavidor • 03/11/2011 - 18:40

It's been fun I've met new people because of the project some of whom I will keep in touch with so it's all good and we'll all smell nice! bring on the next project!!

judyjetson • 10/11/2011 - 14:30

I have to agree with the person who said they found the bottle difficult to squeeze. I found that, especially when the bottle was running low, I have to use two hands to squeeze it, whereas I'd prefer to be able to use one hand to squeeze and the other to hold the dispensing cup. It's possible it's partly to do with the shape of the bottle. I loved the fragrance, but I actually would have preferred it a little stronger. I didn't seem to get a huge amount of fragrance - it was quite sublte.

kesh • 10/11/2011 - 18:02

i have recently startedto read all imformation about thing before i rush into buying them and thats all thanks to being a member of savy circle it great to get other peoples opions it hasnt improved my spelling though lol have enjoy using the new bold but have to agree with judyjetson smell was too delicate have got back to bolds sparkling promengrate and orange as thats smells alot stronger but thanks for the free try

Hunny123 • 14/11/2011 - 12:00

Like a lot of other members have said, I don't normally read reviews for everyday day items. I would certainly research and review for larger items particularly electrical or mobile phones etc. But this discussion has actually encouraged me to research everyday items especially products that are new to the market. From now on before I buy a new product I will certainly be research it first. I have on too many ocassions bought a new product and most times I have been dis-satisfied with it. I have enjoyed taking part in this project and would like to say many thanks for picking me.

micrasheep • 14/11/2011 - 12:45

Ive never used online reviews for anything other than big purchases. But, you've certainly made me think about it...Next time maybe
