Not only have we seen lots of reviews appear on personal blogs and various product review platforms, but we’ve also seen lots and lots of reviews from members of our project team be published on Boots.com – fantastic work!

Discussed… how best to apply our new foundation.
One conclusion we have realised from our project is that less certainly is more with Ageless Elixir 2in1 Foundation + Serum.

Given tips… about where best to spread the word.
Whether it was in Boots while browsing the foundation shelves, or simply while out and about with friends, we shared lots of tips for the best places to spread the word about the foundation.

Read… our make-up artist’s tips for looking great.
Max Factor’s award-winning make-up artist, Caroline Barnes, gave us some brilliant tips for looking great in our thirties, forties and fifties, while we also had plenty more tips offered by members of our project team simply by leaving a comment on the blog.

Handed out… samples to friends and family.
The 18 mini samples included in our starter kits meant that we were able to surprise our friends and relatives with a sample and a money-off coupon. Who did you hand yours out to?

And last of all…

There’s something about free make-up that just attracts people. Lots of us have been reporting that not only have our friends and relatives been excited to test the new Max Factor Ageless Elixir – along the way, we’ve met strangers who are also interested in trying it out. And sometimes those strangers have become friends!

Who’ve you met while spreading the word about the Ageless Elixir foundation?

When two women sat down at a table in a full coffee shop with her, Savvy Circle member Milton took the chance to spread the word:

@all: Are you a Max Factor convert? How impressed have you been on the whole with the Ageless Elixir foundation?

Whether on personal blogs, at Boots.com, over Facebook or on one of the many online review sites such as Ciao and Dooyoo, loads of us have taken the opportunity to leave a review and tell others about the foundation and our experiences with it.

I’ve been using this foundation for around a month now and am definitely converted. It has a lovely consistency and texture and gives a very natural looking finish, yet is great at covering blemishes and fine lines. It has a lovely subtle fragrance and a little goes a long way so for the price it’s a great value, high quality product. This foundation is new, it is a 2-in-1. As well as having foundation it contains serum. This is SPF 15 also. It is claimed to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles instantly. In our project we’ve all used the 2in1 foundation + serum in a range of situations and with various people, as well as shared lots of tips and tricks for make-up and skincare – meaning we’ve got lots to report about!

In the project handbook we already provided you with a message to spread, but you no doubt have your own fantastic ideas and suggestions to spread the word about Max Factor’s Ageless Elixir 2in1 Foundation + Serum among your friends and families.

@all: What’s the key message you’d use to sum up what you like about the foundation? Be creative with your ideas and share them below!

Prior to this project we all had the chance to select the one shade we felt would suit our skin tone the best, be it the Light Ivory shade for pale-skinned women, or the Bronze one for those of us whose skin is darker.

This was coupled with 18 mini samples of the Natural shade 50 to hand out to family and friends – the most popular shade from the range which is suitable for most people.

There is one question that has cropped up a few times though, relating to the shades and suitability for our various skin tones:

What should I do if, despite the fact that I love the foundation, the shade is slightly off and doesn’t quite match my skin tone?

We’d definitely recommend heading down to Boots to check out all of the six different shades there. We know it’s not perfect to have to choose the shade going off our diagram in the project handbook, but are delighted that so many members of the project team have given so much positive feedback, even if the shade hasn’t matched 100%. Your feedback has been passed on to Max Factor on a weekly basis and the team there are delighted with all of the conversation reports, blog comments, market research sheets and photos that have been sent in.

As a result it has been decided to extend our eight-week project by a further two weeks, meaning we now have until 04 November to keep spreading the word and sending in feedback so that we can continue delighting the brand in our maiden Savvy Circle project!

Another fantastic idea to spread the word is to talk to people of different ages and professions, who in turn can pass on the information you tell them to friends of their own. Our fellow project team member, Savvy Circle member curlykate, has been very busy handing out her Max Factor samples!

@all: Who have you passed a market research sheet on to? What did they have to say about the new foundation?

Max Factor’s award-winning make-up artist Caroline Barnes has again provided her top tips, so give them a try and let us know what you think by leaving a comment below!

Eyes: Shape the brows to lift the eyes. Don’t skip mascara as this helps to open out your eyes without making you look too made up.

Face: Use a flat brush to apply your foundation, it helps conceal imperfections and skin discolourations as it allows you to layer up the foundation where needed. Push the foundation into the skin on the areas you need it most – under the eyes, around wrinkles and over broken veins. Opt for cream blushes to add colour, and avoid using powder as this will dull the skin.

Lips: This is the time when faint signs of ageing form around the mouth, so go for more complimentary colours that have enough pigment to boost and refresh your complexion. Try Colour Elixir Lipstick in Pink Brandy and Colour Elixir Lip Liner in Brown & Nude.

The official word from Max Factor is as follows: “We would recommend using a moisturiser, such as Olay Total Effects or Olay Regenerist, to help prepare the skin prior to applying foundation.”

That said, a few of our fellow project team members have been raving about not needing an additional moisturiser when applying Ageless Elixir. The same can be said for those who swear by it and feel it makes the face feel more supple and it helps the foundation stick for longer. What’s your preference?

The pic is a close friend of mine who is really self conscious about acne scarring. She normally wears a lot of make up to try and hide them which she admits only makes it worse as her skin always feels heavy and clogged which causes more break outs. Use Caroline’s expert tips below to look like a professional when it comes to your personal make-up!

Eyes: When you’re in your forties, you should wear colour beautifully and elegantly rather than dramatically, to lift your complexion. Avoid colour blocking or graphic shapes as it’s not flattering.

Face: Apply foundation to the centre of your face and work it outwards with a foundation brush in a ‘whisk’ like motion. This conceals imperfections and ensures the foundation lies lightly on the skin. Always make sure you select the right foundation shade, otherwise you risk making your skin look drier and older.

To do this, colour match your foundation to the skin on your décolletage. Go for warm nude tones on your cheeks as pinks or reds will highlight any redness in your face; try Miracle Touch Creamy Blush in Soft Copper.

Lips: Opt for a classic beauty look and wear red to embrace your femininity. Try Colour Elixir Lipstick in Ruby Tuesday. Line lips Colour Elixir Liner in Red Rush to prevent feathering.

@all: Who’ve you managed to hand your mini samples to so far? What did they have to say about the new foundation?

Use these make-up tips to dazzle your friends with your make-up, and share your own personal tips with us below!

Eyes: In your thirties, it’s great to wear flashes of colour on your eyes but you need to be a bit more subtle with it around your eye socket line. You can wear any colour you like, but make sure you always finish with mascara as it really prettifies your eye look.

Face: Try using two foundation shades; apply a lighter colour to your t-zone area and a slightly darker shade around the outside of your face. This will give your face dimension for a more radiant and natural looking finish.

Wear a fresh pink on the apples of your cheeks, like Max Factor’s Miracle Touch Creamy Blush in Soft Pink, as it’s an instant youth booster. Wearing pink shades when you’re younger is excellent as skin doesn’t tend to have so many red undertones.

Lips: In your thirties it’s great to experiment with colour and wear on trend lip looks. To get Gucci’s autumn winter statement lip, first line lips with Colour Elixir Pencil in Mauve Mistress. Next, apply Colour Elixir Lipstick in Mulberry. Then dab Colour Elixir Lipstick in Ruby Tuesday onto the inner lip. For Gucci’s siren 70’s finish coat lips liberally in gloss.

Most people test foundation on their hands, but actually none of us wear foundation on our hands! You need to apply foundation to the area you want to perfect. Remember to experiment, and once you’ve applied the foundation the results will look far more natural if the colour of your face blends in with the rest of your body. @all: Have you followed Caroline’s advice for testing foundation? What other tips do you have for our fellow project participants?

One of the main reasons behind it is to do with give and take: The Max Factor team want to find out our opinions of their new 2in1 foundation and so allowed 5,000 of us to receive a starter kit containing a full-sized sample, a handful of mini samples and coupons for money off new Ageless Elixir.

We’ve already been receiving plenty of fantastic reports of your experiences spreading the word – which is absolutely brilliant – and the more conversation reports we can collect, the better!

Our contact at Max Factor, Lucie, is there to answer our questions, while Max Factor as a brand would like to receive as much feedback as possible about the topic of two-in-one foundation.

The main way to send feedback is via a conversation report: We would love to be able to tell the Max Factor team at the end of the project how the people we talked to reacted when we told them about their new foundation, and how they found the samples we passed on to them.

Conversation reports can be:

• Short and snappy, for example sending a link to a blog post or forum entry we have made.
• A bit longer and more detailed, with detailed feedback, praise, criticism, individual test results, photos or videos from our fellow testers.

By writing a conversation report we have the unique chance to influence brands with our views and opinions. Let’s use this opportunity to convince the Max Factor team to offer us all the chance to take part in further projects in the future!

As this is one of the very first Savvy Circle projects, here’s a handy “how to” guide when it comes to sharing feedback:

1. Conversation reports:
Every time you speak to somebody about Ageless Elixir you can report back to us: Who did you talk to? What opinions, questions and comments did they have?

A conversation report can be short and snappy, or long and more detailed – it is up to you. We will reply to every single one personally, and you will receive Savvy Circle stars for each of your conversation reports to show your project activity!

You can send us your conversation reports and photos via your Savvy Circle profile. Just log in and click on “Submit a conversation report”, or, even easier, just click the “Write a report” button in the sidebar of our project blog here:

2. Comments:
We use the project blog to introduce interesting excerpts from your conversation reports, as well as to discuss a whole range of topics to do with our Ageless Elixir project. The best thing to do is to visit the project blog every day to see what’s happening and to discuss with other members of the Savvy Circle.

3. Surveys:
In our eight-week project there are three surveys where you can share your opinions. As soon as you are able to take part in them, you will be notified via email and they will appear in your Savvy Circle profile.

4. Market research sheets:
Poll your friends and family by using the market research sheets from your starter kit. You can quickly and easily send us the results online: Just log into your Savvy Circle profile and click on “Submit a market research sheet”.

5. Email:
All of your questions and suggestions can be sent to me via email. I will then forward them on to Lucie, our contact at Max Factor. The answers will then be shared on our project blog.

6. Photos:
You can send us photos along with your conversation reports. They can be of your starter kit being unpacked, of trying out the product together with your friends, or just general pictures of the new Ageless Elixir 2in1 foundation. Every photo (that you allow us to publish) will then be hosted in our online photo gallery.

7. Videos:
If you have any cool videos of you trying out Ageless Elixir with your friends then send them to us! It’s really easy to share the videos with us, just upload them to YouTube, for example, and then send us the link either in a conversation report or via email.

There are some incredibly speedy postman dotted around the UK, as we have already started receiving reports from our fellow Savvy Circle members that their project starter kits have arrived. Don’t worry if yours hasn’t turned up yet – it should be there within the next day or two.

Max Factor’s new Ageless Elixir arrived at Savvy Circle member aliceg12′s house early on Monday.

When I unpacked the product, I immediately phoned my mum to tell her of the product and how well it works. She said, ‘Wow! I’ll have to use some of your bottle when you get home!’ [...] My mum took some of the sachets and vouchers to her work and spread the word around there. We only gave vouchers to people who thought it worked well and out of all the 18 vouchers given and 18 sachets given out, we gave 15 vouchers. I received my starter kit this morning – beautifully packaged like a gift, which immediately sparked the interest of my mum! I unpacked the items and showed the full-sized 2in1 foundation to her and explained that it is a foundation containing a serum with an SPF.
