Our online reviews for Max Factor’s Ageless Elixir.

Over the last eight weeks of our Max Factor project we’ve seen not just thousands of conversation reports and hundreds of photos come in, but lots of examples of online reviews by our project team!

Whether on personal blogs, at Boots.com, over Facebook or on one of the many online review sites such as Ciao and Dooyoo, loads of us have taken the opportunity to leave a review and tell others about the foundation and our experiences with it.

I’ve been using this foundation for around a month now and am definitely converted. It has a lovely consistency and texture and gives a very natural looking finish, yet is great at covering blemishes and fine lines. It has a lovely subtle fragrance and a little goes a long way so for the price it’s a great value, high quality product. I’ve recommended this to several friends and family now, I’ve tried many foundations but this one really does come out top. Savvy Circle member the_hell_of_it_all

This foundation is new, it is a 2-in-1. As well as having foundation it contains serum. This is SPF 15 also. It is claimed to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles instantly. Also it claims to help against the signs of ageing. These are bold claims to make, so it was only right I tried it. […] Overall I was very impressed with the product and will be buying again. Savvy Circle member Tamzen

If you’re still to write an online review outside of the Savvy Circle then take two minutes to do so now – the more reviews we can produce online, the more delighted the Max Factor team will be at the end of our project!

Ive done reviews online and people seem to be really warming to the ageless elixer especially noticing the difference when they first try it! x

I’ve been using this foundation for around 2 month now and am definitely happy with it. Its lovely consistency and texture can perfectly cover blemishes and gives a very natural looking finish. It has a nice fragrance and a little goes a long way so for the price it’s a great value, high quality product. I’ve recommended this to my friends and family and received almost very positive feedback from them Only 2 out of them give neutral idea as the shade 50 isnt a right shade for them but they do agree that its texture is great and they will probably try another shade on their next purchase.

I have left a positive review on Boots website.
When purchasing anything online it certainly helps me to make up my mind about a product if there are reviews to read.
At the moment we are looking for a washer/dryer so I have looked at some in the shop and then read the reviews on the shop’s website.

If I am looking to buy something that I have never tried before then I do read online reviews. I use reviews on the product’s website and also independent reviews to get a balanced feel for the product. There have been times when I have not bought a product after reading reviews and times when I have been persuaded to buy a product that maybe I would not have bought without reading the reviews. However I do think that you have to remember that we all have different needs and expectations and what suits one will not always suit another.

I forgot to mention that I also complete online reviews for products that I have purchased, particularly when buying online and getting an email asking for a review. I also complete Tripadvisor reviews when I have visited a Hotel or Restaurant. I make sure that I complete reviews whether they are good or bad, I do feel that many people only post on review sites if they have had a bad experience and this can lead to an unbalanced result.

I, like many other savvy circle members, have reviewed Ageless Elixir on the Boots website (and of course I have given it the high praise it deserves :-) )

I always look at reviews before buying something new, other users opinions will really sway my purchasing!

I always read the review before purchasing anything at all and mostly for beauty products and if i feel someone makes a comment close to what i would have said it does help me make my mind up.

I also always read reviews before I purchase anything I haven’t used before. Alot of good reviews or bad reviews can change my decision. When I try a new product, read a new book, etc I always write a review if there is a place to do so.

I do like to read reviews before buying new products, however if I really want to try something, I will buy it regardless of the reviews, then formulate my own opinion.

  • 30.10.11 - 21:13

    by: Savvy Circle member maxxx

Reading reviews are important to see what other people think of the product. I must admit i do tend to purchase products if the reviews are good.

I always try to read reviews before i purchase anything, specially for beauty products and toiletries. They are really helpful for me. However, if i really want to try something which reviews is not available then i still buy it.

Yes, I would agree with this. I always check reviews on-line before purchasing anything. However, I do look for consistancy in opinions because I feel that is a better basis for judgement.

I have really enjoyed this project and love the new foundation/serum so will leave a review on-line today.

After using this product for 4 weeks now I can see a definate improvement in the appearance of fine lines on my face. I love the ease at which I am able to apply the Elixir in a morning and this coverage lasts all day long. The only other product similar to this that I have tried is one by Clinique but this is much more expensive and I got a trial in a magazine.

I am still really please with the 2 in 1 foundation. The foundation is so much easier to apply and covers really well. I found my cheeks are getting redder with the cold, so it’s ideal a must I should say.

This product is great for all ages. I’ve gave out samples to all ages from my 21 yr old daughter to my 67 yr old mum. Everyone raves bout it, definitely the best foundation on market and you don’t need concealer to cover dark circles under eyes so thats an extra you dont have to buy anymore. Totally converted to this foundation now, anyone can look in my make-up bag I’ve every foundation but not now I’l stick with this. Its so smooth and you can easily put it on if your in rush out the door cos it goes on so smoothly even without moisturiser. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT

I am so pleased with this foundation. After 2 months I can safely say I am converted. Love the idea of having a serum, SPF and foundation all in one so I don’t have to slap each one on separately, and it feels great on the skin, glides on and suits my face extremely well:) It smells nice too. The response from my friends and family have been 100 per cent positive too. My mum used your products anyway so asked her to give this one a try instead of the normal anti aging foundation she uses of yours. She LOVES it and will be purchasing some more of it. And I and lots of my friends love it too. Fab product and does so much more than a foundation should do x

I think when you look or browse for a product online now you expect and want to see reviews on a product to give you an idea of what that products performance is and i wish that all companies online would adopt this approach. I have not left any reviews online about the foundation but have spread the word through family, friends and other people. I always read the reviews or research for almost every product i buy and i find it a big help when you can compare peoples opinion about a particular product you might want to buy. I normally leave reviews myself if i have bought a particular product of a website and they have the facility to do so.

I write on both ciao and dooyoo and have sent you links to my reviews on the product on both sites. I read a lot of reviews and am influenced by recommendations from fellow reviewers on products I am thinking of buying.

I am even more impressed than I was before with this product.I recently had a bad facial accident while on holiday,I was left with bad bruising and a fractured nose.I tried my foundation to help cover the bruising and was pleasantly surprised with the cover it gave me,and was happy to be able to go out without as many stares,it helped re-boost my confidence, thanks Max Factor.xx

went to a family christening yesterday and saw several cousins I haven’t seen for ages who wanted to know what my secret was as they reckoned looked younger. Youngest cousin wanted to know if I’ld won the lottery and had a facelift as I made her feel old and she’s 8 years younger than me. Thank you ageless elixir, off to buy my next bottle!

I always check out reviews for any new product I’m thinking of buying. I find them very helpful when trying to make a choice. I always leave a review when asked by email, and try to remember to go back when not asked also.
I did leave a review on the boots website for Ageless Elixir and sang it’s praises ofcourse.

I wouldn’t have used foundation a lot previously as I always found it too heavy on my skin – lke I was wearing a mask! – and too heavily scented. But Max Factor Ageless Elixir ticks al the boxes for me, it smells and feels good, and makes my skin look fantastic!

I’m a definite convert.I really really love the foundation it really evens out my skin tone and covers up my Vitiligo patches around my eyes which Is quite hard to cover with other foundations.
I’ve been using ever since I received it and have not used any other foundation,in fact I had a sort out of my make-up and my other foundations are the wrong shade too orangey, the Max factor is a perfect shade match for me. I’ve still loads left too as a little goes a long way especially when I use it over a primer.I love it !!!

    I am definately converted..
I have left a comment on the boots page and have also told my friends on facebook..
Nearly everyone i have spoken to about it and given samples too have said that they will be buying it in the future and replacing there existing foundation.
So many people are impressed by it’s consistency and the effects it has when covering fine lines and blemishes and also the minimal amount required.
Well done Max factor and thanks

I’ve only ever used reviews for large electrical purchases or holidays, I never thought about seeking out reviews for smaller purchases but since taking part in this project I realise the benefits of not only seeking out reviews but also making my views known. I will definitely do this more often.

I always use reviews before making any purchase, I then like to make my own views known, its important to be honest so that a true review of a product can be done.

I definitely think reviews help a great deal in making a persons mind up about whether to buy a certain product or not.

In the past 8 weeks i used the new 2in1 foundation and i love it! It works properly, it`s smooth texture covers well all over my face leaving it perfect during the day without making it oily. I shared all my samples and coupons, and after a while i received pretty positive feedbacks from everybody. I used to write reports, talk on the internet with my friends but also on the phone. It is a good product that`s worth the money as well.

I’ve had some more positive feedback from users of the samples saying that they have decided to buy the full size product. One person said they’d searched for reviews on the product and had been impressed with the response the product had received.. it had in fact confirmed their decision to buy the product. Reviews – very important I think for helping people make up their mind !

I just wanted to let you know that I am well and truly converted! This product has made a huge difference to my appearance and my confidence has improved. My skin looks so even and smooth with this foundation. I will definitely continue using this product. All my friends and family agree with me too. Everyone loves it!

When I first tried the product, to be honest I didnt really like it at all but not to give up at the first hurdle, I persevered and now am converted. Its lush. I dont know what I was doing wrong initially but its a very lovely foundation. I think less is more though, perhaps I was using too much at first, one whole pump is more than enough.

I love reading reviews of products before I try them out and there are many and varied reviews here for Max Factor. I really love this foundation. I do not wear foundation every day as I find it clogs up my skin but this one is definitely much nicer and lighter than any I have ever used. It may be the serum contained in the foundatation, but whatever it is, it works for me. Thank you Max Factor.

Online reviews are a great way of helping to assess a product. When you discount a percentage of people who are paid by the product manufacturer, and ignore those who could be working for the opposition, what you are left with is still a reasonable indication of how good the product is – and the more reviews, the fairer the rating will be. I will be leaving reviews of this product for the reason that if other people can be bothered to leave reviews to help me, then I can return the compliment! (My reviews will be positive, and of course fair!)

  • 03.11.11 - 10:55

I have reviewed Ageless Elixir online and often read product reviews myself. They definitely influence my decision to try new products.

  • I reviewed Ageless Elixir on the Boots site (thanks for featuring it btw!). I mostly always check out reviews these days before buying anything, its become second nature. I will also post a review where I have been either really pleased with or quite disgruntled with any product or service received. I especially look up reviews for cosmetics – mainly to see how well others say they perform against what they claim to do.
As with anything you have to weigh up others opinions and realise not everyone is going to share the same requirements/view as yourself, but I do think reviews in general give a great indicator of a product. If enough people are raving about or complaining about the same thing then it’s wise to take note.

I do consider the reviews and see the overall picture.

Obviously everything is not going to be great everytime for everyone!! So I read the median and form an opinion as to whether I want to risk it and give it a go or not

Having been using the Elixir for the past few weeks I remain just as imressed as I was when I first used it – in fact, even more so! The more I use it the more certain I am I will never use anything else!
My 23 year old daughter, and my mother are both converted and think the Elixir is great.
I have not heard one adverse comment about the Elixir form any of my friends or family, and this just shows what a great product it is.

I just wanted to add my final comment – I was impressed by the foundation when I first tried it and am still impressed all these weeks later. I will definitely continue to use this foundation in future. I feel sure we have managed to convince some of my testers to switch as well – most of the feedback was positive.

This has been a fantastic project to be part of – I loved the fact that not only was I able to test the product but I could share my good fortune with loads of friends and family. So thanks very much for inviting me to be part of the project – I hope I can participate again in the future.
